Introduction 指南
Mauritius is a tropical island forming the Mascarenes Islands along with Reunion Island and Rodrigues in the Indian Ocean. It is located at around 2000 kilometres from the East Coast of the African continent.
The country comprises of several islands namely Mauritius, Rodrigues, Agalega and St Brandon.

Mauritius is a well-known tourist destination because of its flora & fauna, scenic landscape and beaches.

To be able to help thrive the tourism industry, there are currently 652 registered tour operators across the country making the industry very competitive and lucrative providing employment to 3514 persons. (Annex 1)

1. Accommodation 住宿
A wide range of accommodation types are available depending on location, number of people, and other preferences. The trend of accommodation has shifted for the past decade; from majorly resorts and hotels to private residences such as holiday apartments, villas and bungalows.
Tour operators in Mauritius offer booking facilities for the accommodation both online or at their branch offices across the islands.

1.1 Hotels 酒店
There are currently 121 hotels registered under the Mauritian Tourism Authority ranging from 3* to 5*. The different tour operators offer facilities both online and otherwise to make bookings in these hotels. (Annex 2)

1.2 Self Catering 自备餐饮设施
Apart from hotels, a range of (730+186) self-catering accommodation is available across the islands such as private bungalows, villas, lodges, holiday apartments, and others. These type of accommodation are self-catering and do not always include packages for activities and other services in contrast to hotels and resorts. (Annex 3)

2. Airport Transfers 机场接送
Tour operators offer airport transfers to inbound and outbound passengers. This type of service makes it convenient to passengers to have less hassle and hence more time to prepare for air travel. Most of the tour operators have a fleet of vehicles from four seaters to mini buses depending on the number of passengers and number of suitcases.

The tour operators provide car rental services to allow for customers to get around on their own without having to stick to the common agenda of excursions and activities by these tour operators.
The customers are therefore freer and can go explore the country at any time of the day.
There are private car rental companies located across the country. Most of the tour operators have their own fleet of vehicles as well. There are different types of vehicles (two wheelers to seven seaters) available depending on the number of passengers and luggage.
However, this service is chargeable and are offered on different rates and conditions. A chauffeur can also be appointed.

The general setting in Mauritius is quite appealing to couples and wedding planners. The wedding procedures require paperwork formalities and any wedding performed in the country is recognized by the Government of Mauritius. The tour operators offer several types of weddings such as:

While not all operators offer wedding services, most of them do offer honeymoon packages to newlywed couples and to those who wish to re live their honeymoon period.
